CPT Travis L. Fugate

CPT Travis L. Fugate graduated from the University of Kentucky in December 2010 with a degree in Political Science and commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer. He completed BOLC at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and reported to Fort Hood, Texas in July 2011. He deployed in support of Operation New Dawn with Alpha Battery, 3-82 FA and served as a maneuver platoon leader.

Upon redeployment CPT Fugate served 21 months as a company Fire Support Officer (FSO) with B CO, 1-8 CAV. He completed Joint Fires Observer Course and a rotation to JRTC. He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in July 2013 to March 2014. He rejoined Alpha Battery, 3-82 FA in April 2014 and served 12 months as the Battery Executive Officer.

CPT Fugate graduated from the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course in November 2015. He has served with 1-23 IN as a BN FSO, including one NTC rotation 16-06. Additionally, he has served as the Assistant Operations Officer in 1-37 FA since June 2016.

CPT Fugate’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation (2OLC), Combat Action Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.

CPT Fugate is married to Mrs. Dee Dee Fugate of Lexington, Kentucky.
