MAJ Michael Marchetti
MAJ Michael Marchetti is originally from Monroe, Ohio. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2002 and was commissioned in the Aviation Branch. His assignments include III/V and Flight Platoon Leader, A/4-123 AVN, Fort Wainwright, AK, from April 2004-September 2005. After his Platoon Leader time he was assigned as the Assistant S3/Battle Captain for HHC/4-123 AVN, from October 2005-February 2006. During U.S. Army Alaska Transformation, MAJ Marchetti helped found the newly formed Aviation Brigade Task Force Headquarters, Task Force 49, at Fort Wainwright as the Assistant S3/Brigade Liaison Officer. He served in this role from February 2006 to July 2007. In April 2008 he was assigned as the S2 for 2-10 AVN, Fort Drum, NY, and was later assigned as the HHC/2-10 AVN Commander from August 2009-May 2010. In May 2010 he assumed command of B/2-10 AVN (AASLT). He served as the Mountainhawk Commander for 15 months with a subsequent assignment as the S3 Plans/Battle Captain for 1-10 AVN, Task Force Tigershark. He was assigned as the MSI Instructor/XO for the UK Army ROTC program in December 2011.
His operational deployments include OIF III (December 2004-December 2005), OIF 9-11 (October 2008-October 2009), and OEF XI (October 2010-October 2011).
MAJ Marchetti’s military education includes the Aviation Officer Basic Course, Initial Entry Rotary Wing Training, UH-60A/L Aircraft Qualification Course, Cold Weather Leader’s Course, Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course, and the Joint Firepower Course.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (NUM5), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2CSS), Iraq Campaign Medal (2CSS), Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (NUM4), and the NATO Medal. MAJ Marchetti is a Senior Army Aviator.
He is married to the former Sarah Bradbury of Camden, OH. He has one son, A.J. (2).
